It baffles me how much hate is still in this country. A country that is so spectacular that people fight to be here. A country that is so spectacular that people leave their families for the promise of a better future. A country that is so spectacular that our basic civil rights allow me to have an opinion, and allow you to vocally disagree. A country that is so spectacular that a child born into poverty could run for the office of President of these United States. It's not my United States. It's not your United States. It's not his or hers. It's ours. Together. Caucasian, African American, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, Mexican, Asian, Irish-the last time I checked, we were all in this together. I want a better world for my children and my children's children.

The road ahead will be long...but we will get there!
I am proud to say that I have witnessed history in the making. I am proud that my family and I, especially my children are with me to share this wonderful experience of a lifetime. The first multi-racial President has been elected. A milestone on so many levels. People never would imagine that this day would come. It is here! YES WE CAN.
